At MakeMySummary, we want you to be completely satisfied with our service. This policy outlines our procedures for subscription cancellations and refunds.

1. Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time directly from within the app. We believe in giving you full control over your subscription without any friction.

How to Cancel

• Log in to your MakeMySummary account
• Navigate to Settings > Subscription
• Click "Cancel Subscription"
• Confirm your cancellation

The process is entirely self-service and takes effect immediately. No need to contact support, send emails, or jump through hoops.

What Happens After Cancellation

• Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
• You will retain access to all premium features until that date
• No further charges will be made to your payment method
• Your account will revert to the free tier after the billing period ends
• Your data and summaries will be preserved

2. Refund Policy

We offer refunds under specific circumstances as outlined below.

Eligible Refunds

You may be eligible for a refund in the following situations:

• Billing errors: If you were charged incorrectly or multiple times for the same period
• Service unavailability: If our service was substantially unavailable during your billing period due to issues on our end
• Accidental renewal: If you forgot to cancel and your subscription renewed, contact us within 7 days of the charge

Refund Limitations

• Monthly subscriptions: Refund limited to the current month's charge
• Annual subscriptions: Refund limited to the prorated amount for unused full months, calculated from the refund request date
• Refunds are not available for partial months of service used
• Promotional credits, discounts, or bonus periods are non-refundable

Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will generally not be provided for:

• Change of mind after using the service
• Failure to cancel before a renewal date (beyond 7 days)
• Dissatisfaction with AI-generated summaries (quality is subjective and varies by content)
• Unused portions of a subscription period after voluntary cancellation
• Violations of our Terms of Service resulting in account suspension

3. How to Request a Refund

If you believe you are eligible for a refund:

1. Email us at support@makemysummary.com
2. Include your account email address
3. Describe the reason for your refund request
4. Include any relevant details (transaction ID, dates, screenshots if applicable)

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3-5 business days. Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

4. Free Trial

If we offer a free trial period, you will not be charged during the trial. To avoid being charged after the trial ends, you must cancel before the trial period expires. We will send a reminder email before your trial ends.

5. Price Changes

We may change our subscription prices from time to time. Any price changes will be communicated to you in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle after the notice period. You may cancel your subscription if you do not agree with the new pricing.

6. Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. We're committed to resolving any issues fairly and promptly. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in account suspension.

7. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
